To my strong friend!

To my strong friend,

Sometimes in life it's easy to be seen as the "strong" one, the one who is filled with strength! But one thing that I have learned is that sometimes our strength has not yet been put to the test. It is in those seasons of testing that we realise our strength is just not enough. In those seasons we may start to question ourselves, "Am I really strong?"

We realise that, yes in past seasons we were able to carry the cross comfortably but there comes a point when you encounter a season where that strength is just not enough to carry the cross. In fact, it may feel like the cross is too heavy to bear - but because you're the strong one you don't want to show it or perhaps even admit it to yourself. So you carry on trying to be the "strong" one.

Perhaps you have now come to an end of your strength and you now realise that you need a greater strength, a strength beyond you. A strength that gives you more strength (if that makes sense). A strength that will carry you along in this season.

I just want to encourage you today, my strong friend. It is ok to be weak. It is ok to not "feel" strong. Understand this, when you are weak, this is when you really come face-to-face with a strength that never fails - the strength of God.

His grace is sufficient for you, and His strength is made perfect in your weakness. So let go of all the pressure and the falsity, the pressure to prove that you are "strong". You are human, just like everyone else. So next time you feel weak, it is ok. You are not weak, you are strong, because when you are weak my friend, you are strong. God's grace is sufficient for you and His strength is made perfect in your weakness. So I encourage you again my strong friend, boast in your weakness that the power of Christ may rest upon you.

Hang in there my strong friend xxx

*Inspired by 2 Corinthians 12:9-10*

Don't forget to share this with your strong friend, they may need to hear this too xx
